A lot of people have a vague understanding that there is money to be made on the Internet, and they want a piece of it without having to pay anything first.
The title of this post is just one of many keywords these people search under. The great news for Internet marketers is that we have a tremendous opportunity to help them while also making a profit.
Most people targeting the make money online from home for free niche are writing about the sites that pay out pennies for completing offers, filling out surveys, clicking on banner ads and reading emails. The nice thing about those sites is that you can earn those pennies just by taking action on the sites. The problem is they are only pennies. They were a good start, though, and you could do quite well by referring others.
These pennies per action sites were the beginning of the now booming industry growing around an advertising principle known as permission marketing. Permission marketing means an advertiser has to ask you before subjecting you to a commercial. Permission marketing forms the basis of opt-in email subscriptions and various other ways we have of limiting the commercial messages we receive. The days of being invaded by these messages are going by the wayside, what with do not call lists and the ability to completely avoid the commercials that interrupt our favorite television programs.
Advertisers have found themselves getting more and more shut out of our lives and they have had to come up with creative and more polite ways to get their message across to potential buyers. This has given rise to various programs where advertisers provide incentives to people in exchange for agreeing to view advertisements. As these programs have had to compete more and more for your attention, those incentives have gotten better and better.
The incentive opportunities that are going to rise to the top are the ones that can figure out a way to make viewing commercial messages profitable to the individual members. The problem is the going rate for an individual view on a commercial message is counted in pennies or even fractions of pennies, which is hardly worth the time or effort. The only people who could truly profit from these programs were those who were good at recruiting others.
That part has not changed. Advertising is a numbers game and network marketing is a great way to make those numbers bigger. Advertisers are more willing than ever before to pay out generous commissions to people who bring them referrals. When you combine permission marketing with network marketing, you have a unique opportunity to make a sale and get a commission just like with any other affiliate marketing opportunity with one important difference: the advertiser, not your customer, pays your commission. Your customer gets the product for free.
We as Internet marketers have a unique opportunity to educate an entire demographic who wouldn’t normally have an interest in Internet marketing (they do not want to sell anything) but are now interested because they view the permission marketing/network marketing combination as a way to make money without having to sell. How hard can it be to recruit the people they know into an opportunity that costs nothing but has the potential to be incredibly lucrative?
You would be surprised. And here is where a good online marketing education comes in handy. Believe it or not, it’s almost as difficult to “sell” people on a free opportunity as it is to sell them on any other product they have to pay for. It’s not impossible; it’s just that the same principles of connecting hungry potential buyers with a relevant product still hold true when the product is free. These days we are bombarded with all kinds of free offers that it can severely tax our time to sort through them all. People aren’t going to get involved with a free opportunity just because it’s free. In other words, you still have to use all the skills of Internet marketing to connect your free opportunity with the people who are looking for an opportunity like that.
You also will need to provide the people you do recruit into your opportunity with some basic online marketing education so that they can be successful with the opportunity and truly make money online from home for free.
The amazing make money online from home for free opportunities
Without further ado, let’s talk about the opportunities available to you as an Internet marketer to share with those wanting to make money online from home for free.
GeoString will pay you $10.00 when you register your free account and it will pay you another $10.00 for each new member you refer. It will also pay you for any referrals your referrals bring down to the tenth level. When you visit the home page you will see a calculator where you can calculate your potential earnings based on how many people you refer and how many people each or your referrals refers. It is theoretically possibly to make thousands or even millions this way, though I suspect most people make a few hundred.
Now the point of GeoString, and the reason you can earn money with it, is so the advertisers can get their message out to you. Your responsibility as an active member of GeoString is to confirm that you read an email once a week. The deal is you bring them members who will also read their email, and they (courtesy of their advertisers) will pay you for those members.
Varolo is an about to launch online TV advertising company with big plans to cut its members in on a share of advertising revenue in exchange for referring new members. Unlike GeoString where you get a one time commission for each referral, your Varolo village (composed of you and everyone you refer down to four levels) can earn you commissions every day.
Every time you watch a TV commercial, you are given one entry into a drawing for a weekly jackpot. This is your incentive to participate in the program even if you have not yet referred anyone. When your referred members watch advertisements, you are awarded a percentage of the cost of the ads, earnings you can claim by watching ads yourself. The earning potential with Varolo lies in the size of your village.
Varolo has done a phenomenal job thoroughly explaining the opportunity through videos in an engaging and exciting manner. This is probably the easiest opportunity to promote because the company already has great marketing materials. If you can just get a friend to the website through your link the odds are good he or she will join.
PayBox is a company that would rather pay its members to help it develop than spend millions on advertising. PayBox has ambitions to become the world’s best online payment processing service. It has its work cut out trying to compete with PayPal and AlertPay and all the other established ones.
Right now, PayBox is paying its early bird members just to log in, subscribe to the PayBox blog, complete some easy surveys, help them test their system and refer others. I call it the easiest twenty dollars a day you’ll ever make. When you sign up, you will immediately receive a $25.00 credit to your account, and a $20.00 bonus each day you log in. You get $10.00 for each referral.
PayBox‘s next project is a limited use debit card and right now they are accepting design ideas. Members are encouraged to submit designs and vote on existing designs. If you have any photographer or graphic designer friends, this is a great opportunity for them to show off their artwork.
The catch with PayBox is you won’t be able to fully access the money in your account until they launch sometime in the first part of 2011. They do provide limited opportunities to use your account balance in ways that will also help them test their system. However, when they do launch, you will have full access to your account balance and at $20.00 a day it can add up quickly.
Introducing url rotators, and how you can use them to help your referrals be successful.
Both GeoString and Varolo are true network marketing opportunities, meaning you don’t just get paid on your direct referrals, but also on their referrals down several levels. This means that you can gain tremendous benefit from the efforts of the people in your downline. This also means you have a good reason to give them some early encouragement by helping them to build their own downlines.
A url rotator is a powerful tool to help you do just that with no extra effort on your part. The way it works is that you are given a url that serves as a portal. Within that portal, you can set up several urls the portal will take a visitor to. If you have three urls set up inside your portal url, your traffic will be directed to each of the three urls in turn.
Url rotators are proliferating around the Internet. They are all the rage in cooperative advertising as well as the new generation of kinder gentler multilevel marketing where your sponsor will actually help you build your downline.
When you begin promoting an opportunity like GeoString or Varolo (you can also do this with PayBox, though it is strictly a direct referral opportunity and you won’t get any immediate benefit from someone else’s referral), assign your affiliate url to a rotator url, and use the rotator url anywhere you would normally have your affiliate url. At any time, you can add someone else’s affiliate url to the list of urls in the rotator and now the rotator will divide your traffic between the two affiliate urls. You make this change in one place and that change will impact every place where you have put your rotator url.
You can register for free rotator accounts at an increasing number of websites. The free accounts will limit the number of urls you can rotate through your rotator url to a fairly low number, though I have found one that allowed up to 999. Until you become a majorly successful Internet marketer and get lots of traffic clicking through your link, it doesn’t make sense to rotate more than a few urls so the free accounts are more than adequate. You can upgrade to a paid membership when you need to expand.
Once you have rotator accounts set up and you’re using the rotator url in your marketing efforts, the sky is the limit as to how you can use them to benefit your visitors and yourself. You can add someone’s GeoString url to your rotator as an incentive for registering as your referral and joining your opt-in mailing list. You can add someone else’s Varolo url to help get them excited about building their own Varolo village. I’ve also considered including urls in my rotator as an incentive for guest blogging on my site, letting me guest blog on your site, or providing a testimonial. The use of rotators literally opens up a whole new avenue for successful cooperative online marketing.
